Diet and Weight Loss
Most of the people that visit fitness and diet websites are looking for information on weight loss. The bad thing is they may find really good diet and exercise information that may be directed toward athelets or bodybuilders.
So if you meet the following criteria then this is the area for you:
-Feel a need to lose 15 or more pounds of body fat.
-Seem to gain weight easily and have a hard time losing it.
-Have noticed that all of a sudden your pants are way too tight.
-Want to get ready to swimsuit season
-Have concerns about obesity and your future health
-Want to start eating healthier
A lot of times people (actually women) look in the mirror and don't like what they see. One thing that you should remember is that you are always your biggest critic. It is not fair for you to judge your own appearence. The important thing is that while you may think that you look "fat" you may infact not be overweight at all. This is very common. A girl that is 5'6" and weighs 135lbs may look in the mirror and think that she is flabby or fat. This leads to the feeling that you need to diet. Am I right?
Should you invest in
weight loss suplements?
If this is your situation, then you really don't need weight loss information. You should go to the
Body Building
section to learn how to build muscle and tone. The more muscle that you have the easier it will be for you to keep the extra weight off.
Building muscle is an important part of the dieting process and is key to keeping the weight off!
Your actual goal may not exactly be what you think it is. I have heard some people say that they would like to lose weight so that they can get back in to running or biking or whatever. These people need to train more for sports and should follow the information in my
Sports Fitness
area of the site.

Just keep in mind that to lose weight you have to make changes in your eating and exercise habits. It is not easy and it does take effort. The more effort you are will to apply the faster you will lose the weight.
Don't worry about all the fad diets. Stick to a good diet and exercise program. Count calories and make sure that you are burning more calories that you are taking in. That's it. No big secret at all.
But you have to start. Here is what you do.
Set aside some time each day or a couple times a week for exercise. The exercise can be anything from jumping rope to walking. Just make sure that you get enough of it. And keep track of you time and/or distance. Make sure that you are increasing the amount that you exercise.
Keep a journal of what you eat. Write down everything that you eat during the day. I mean everything. Don't cheat because you will just frustrate yourself in the end. Total up the calories everyday. To determine how many calories you should use in a day click on the TOOLS button on the top left.
Do the math. Are you burning more calories than you are taking in? If not then you either need to increase the exercise or decrease the calories.
